Saraswat Khatri Pathshala, founded in 1921, flagged off its centenary celebrations on 30 January 2020, the auspicious day of Basant Panchami as it entered its hundredth year. This celebration was a wonderful expression of familial communion where all came together to reminisce the journey which had copious memoirs associated with it. All the four institutions which stand gloriously today can boast and illustrate of a great ethos and vision of the past. The day saw the campus bedecked with resplendent decorations and myriad of smiling faces in colourful attire.
The celebration started by invoking the blessings of the Almighty with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Shri Pankaj Mittal, of Allahabad High Court, Guest of Honour, Dr Piyush Ranjan Agarwal, Vice Chancellor, Awadesh Pratap University, Rewa, members of the Managing Committee of Saraswat Khatri Pathshala and other dignitaries followed by the euphonious Vandana by the students of Tagore Public School. Shri Rajiv Khanna, President of Saraswat Khatri Pathshala accorded an official welcome to all the dignitaries, members of the management committees of all the institutions and the faculty members. He recounted some experiences with great nostalgia.
Shatabdi Yatra, a Power Point Presentation by TPS, gave a glimpse of the journey of 100 years of Saraswat Khatri Pathshala. The toddlers of Navin Shishu Vatika danced in sync with the music presenting the Basant celebrations of different states of India through their presentation, Basant Bayaar. The students of S K Inter College dramatised the issue of education of a girl child in their play. The performance of S S Khanna Girls’ Degree College lit up the stage as they portrayed the advent of spring through their colourful dance, Vasantotsav. India’s resounding richness of culture and grandeur was portrayed in Atulya Bharat, the dance forms of our diverse nation by the students of Tagore Public School.
The day saw the release of the souvenir, Shatotsav and Logo of the Centenary Year by the eminent dignitaries. The Guest of Honour, Dr Piyush Ranjan Agarwal and the Chief Guest Shri Pankaj Mittal, showered their blessings through their address and congratulated the members of Saraswat Khatri Pathshala for their wonderful glorious hundred years. They also acclaimed their contribution in the field of education. The President and the Secretary of Saraswat Khatri Pathshala presented a memento to the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour as a mark of gratitude. Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mr Shohit Khanna, Assistant Secretary, Saraswat Khatri Pathshala. The momentous occasion culminated with the rendition of the National Anthem.
